Last year when visiting Kentucky a friend took us to the mill and I bought a bag each of white and yellow stone ground "unbolted" corn meal. Brought it home and forgot about it in the garage. Ran across it the other day and opened the bags -- relieved to find no little critters had infested it. We made corn bread -- OMG! Best corn bread EVER! We like the white a bit better than the yellow (a bit sweeter somehow), but both beat ANYTHING you will bake using anything else. We've been gorging on cornbread for a week now -- can't stop eating it. Bake in an iron skillet, Cut with wheat flour, use a couple of eggs in the batter, mix don't whip, DON'T OVERBAKE. Sprinkle granulated sugar over the top as soon as it comes out of the oven and enjoy.
