UNBOLTED PLAIN CORNMEAL

It's impossible to find white corn meal in any store in our area. We drove an hour away to a major city and couldn't find any there. My mother-in-law's cornbread dressing requires white cornmeal -- she wouldn't consider using yellow corn meal for cornbread. We ordered this not imagining that it would arrive in time -- but miraculously it arrived the next day!

Note: Although it's stoneground, it is not coarse -- it's very fine. So our search for coarser white corn meal continues for my M-I-L, but it came through in a pinch. I will use it in many applications.

This meal makes a delicious bread in an iron skillet. I used buttermilk and maple syrup in mine and it browns perfectly.

Makes the best cornbread… adds a little grit for a great mouth sensation. No self respecting Southerner should be without it.

The review title says it all; Weisenberger’s unbolted cornmeal makes the best cornbread! End of story.

Living in CA it’s impossible to find freshly milled corn product. Having been raised in KY and my grandparents living near Midway I grew up eating these products. Our son also has grown up on Weisenberger corn mill. It’s turning to Chili time and that means corn muffins!
