I wanted so much to find a perfect white bread recipe that I could make as my favorite to use over and over again. I finally found it on page 73 of this cookbook. My stove is pretty hot, so the crust was a little brown, so next time I make this recipe, I’m gonna bake at 350º for 35 minutes, checking it at the 20 minute mark. I think that’s all it needs. It has to be an old recipe, because there was no time given for it to cook, just until the top was golden brown. But the bread turned out delicious. Better than any bought bread. I believe the secret to good bread is kneading the dough by hand. This will be my go-to recipe for white bread from now on. After making more bread, I’ll continue to search the other recipes and see how good they are, and they all are probably delicious.
